does family trip planning stress you out? me too

greg · April 10, 2026

Hey my beans!

It’s me again. Nope, it’s not AI, like Wile-E-Coyote endlessly pursuing the roadrunner, trying to “capture” my essence. My essence is uncapturable. Is that even a word? Doesn’t matter.

It’s a Monday morning. You’re at your desk, sipping coffee from your favorite mug. You’ve just finished your 3rd email, furrowing your brow in disbelief trying to understand why your colleague just escalated to your boss. You literally received that request like 2 hours ago. Friday was a public holiday. I mean, come on.

Out of nowhere, the floor begins to shake. Windows rattle. Fluorescent lights sway from the ceiling. Motivational poster frames crash to the ground. Goodbye “hang in there” cat, you hung in there as long as you could.

A black hole envelops the floor, racing towards your chair, swallowing everything in its path. You shoot a panicked glance towards your coworkers, oblivious, going about their morning routines. Coffee spills out of your mug like a caffeinated waterfall as you’re sucked into the void, plunging towards oblivion. You scream, but as Ridley Scott made absolutely clear, in space, nobody can hear you scream.

A moment later you awake, resting comfortably in a chaise lounge, your toes sinking into silky white sand, a wide-brimmed hat protecting your eyes from a beaming sun, a bedazzled, umbrella-adorned daiquiri glass forming drips of moisture around your fingers - that’s right, you’re on holiday! Yay!

Does any of this feel familiar?

For many of us, holidays are amazing, but they’re also jarring. We’re escaping the monotony of everyday life and finding ourselves in new, exciting, and unpredictable situations. Somehow, the break from routine resets our perspective and recharges our batteries. Vacations restore order to our lives. But the details, planning, and expense can destroy our sanity before our well-deserved holiday even starts.

Flights, hotels, meals, activities, travel budgets, and the list goes on. What can beanies do to help reduce that burden, even a bit?

Well, check out our newest feature: travel plans.

Build family (or personal - we’re not judging) trips, collaborate on vacation ideas with your family, get helpful hints to improve or fix the gaps in your planning, and more. We even allow you to save pending or tentative plans with less than full detail. Because, if you’re anything like me, you never have the full detail until literally the last minute.

a real, actual trip i took with my son. not a simulation. a real, actual trip i took with my son. not a simulation.

You might notice that the travel plans section on beanies.family is the only place where we depart from the beanies.family theme colors, and that’s not a mistake (well, it was at first, but now it’s not). Vacations are a departure from your norm, and we display them that way. Your travel plans are special - so seeing them in a shade of blue or green you’ve never seen before across the site is a feature, not a bug (let it be known).

So check out travel plans, and the next time you’re stressing out over planning for what is supposed to be your fun family outing, open up beanies.family, get your thoughts organized, and relax. Tentative plans, general ideas, un-booked flight segments - it’s all good, just leave it here. We got you.

Forget about the stress of planning, and focus on creating a lifelong memory for your beanies.

Create a pod, start a travel plan, and let’s blow this bean stand.

Peace out, my beans.
