Account types

beanies.family supports a range of account types to match your real-world finances:

  • Checking — Everyday spending accounts
  • Savings — Savings and deposit accounts
  • Credit Card — Credit cards (treated as liabilities)
  • Investment — Brokerage and investment accounts
  • Crypto — Cryptocurrency wallets and exchanges
  • Cash — Physical cash on hand
  • Loan — Mortgages, personal loans, etc. (treated as liabilities)
  • Other — Anything else

Adding an account

Go to Accounts in the Piggy Bank section

Click Add Account

Choose the account type, name, currency, and starting balance

Assign it to a family member

Toggle Include in Net Worth if it should count towards your totals

💳 Liabilities

Credit cards and loans are automatically subtracted from your net worth. Their balance represents what you owe.
